Privacy Policy

Summary

Spiky does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. It makes no network requests of its own. Everything it does happens inside your browser.

What Spiky stores, and where

Only on your device, in Chrome's extension storage:

  • Your settings: whether blocking is on, whether YouTube ad skipping is on, and the list of sites you turned Spiky off for (chrome.storage.local). They stay until you change them or remove the extension.
  • Blocked-request counts per tab: used for the number in the popup and the dot on the toolbar icon (chrome.storage.session). Cleared when a page changes, a tab closes, or the browser quits.

None of this leaves your browser.

Why Spiky needs its permissions

  • Read and change data on all websites (<all_urls>), scripting: to hide ad elements and stop popunder ads on the pages you visit.
  • declarativeNetRequest: to block ad and tracker requests using built-in filter rules.
  • webRequest: to count blocked requests per tab. Spiky only observes; it does not read or change request contents.
  • webNavigation: to know when a page loads in a tab, so per-site settings and counts apply to the right page.
  • storage: to remember your settings.

Filter lists

Blocking rules are bundled with the extension and updated only through Chrome Web Store updates. Spiky does not download anything at runtime.

Spiky neden bu izinlere ihtiyaç duyar
